BY SUBWAY:

  Dupont Circle Metro Station (Red Line)

1. Leave Dupont Circle Metro Station by the Q Street Exit.
2. At the top of the escalator (street level), turn right on Q Street and cross Connecticut Ave.
3. Proceed on east Q Street crossing both 19th Street and New Hampshire Ave. to 18th Street.
4. Turn right on 18th Street and proceed to P Street.
5. Turn left on P Street.
6. 40Plus is near the end of the block on the right side, at 1718 P Street, in the Webster House apartment building.

• NOTE:19th Street Exit is CLOSED until Oct. 2012 Leave the Dupont Circle Metro Station by the 19th Street exit.
• At the top of the escalator (street level), turn 180 degrees, and walk a short distance to Dupont Circle.
• Turn right and walk counter-clockwise around the outside of the Circle, past Connecticut and Massachusetts Avenues.
• At P Street, turn right and proceed on P Street past 18th Street.

  Farragut Square Alternatives

Farragut North Metro Station (Red Line)

1. Leave Farragut North Metro Station at the L Street Exit.
2. Turn right on L Street and cross Connecticut Ave.
3. Turn left on 17th Street.
4. Proceed up 17th Street to the corner of P Street.
5. Turn left on P Street; Webster House, at 1718 P Street, is the first apartment building on the left side.

Farragut West Metro Station (Blue/Orange Line)

1. Leave Farragut West Metro Station at the 17th Street Exit.
2. Turn right on I Street.
3. Turn left on 17th Street.
4. NOTE: 17th Street is on both the east AND the west side of the square between I Street and K Street.  Follow 17th Street on the east side of the square; to the right coming out of the Metro station.
   
5. Cross K Street and proceed up 17th street to the corner of P Street.
   
6. Turn left on P Street; Webster House, at 1718 P Street, is the first apartment building on the left side.

BY CAR

40Plus is at 1718 P Street, NW -- in the Webster House apartment building (on the South side of P Street between 17th and 18th Streets, just East of Dupont Circle).  Webstre House is near the corner of 17th Street and P Street.

1. Follow Connecticut or Massachusetts Avenue to Dupont Circle.
2. Use the outer lane around the circle.
3. Turn right off the Circle at P Street, going east toward 18th Street.
4. Cross 18th Street (heading toward 17th) and start to look for parking.
   • There is both metered and unmetered (free) parking on nearby streets.
   • The block in front of 40Plus is unmetered.
   • Two hour parking limits are aggressively enforced.
5. If you want to avoid traffic in the Circle explore two alternatives:
   • From the north, drive down 16th Street or 17 Street to P Street.
   • From the south, drive up 18th Street to P Street.  Note: 18th Street begins at Constitution Ave.

Notes:

1. After the morning meeting there is the opportunity to network with 40Plus members and have an inexpensive lunch at the Brookings Institution
   • In light of the two-hour street parking limit, use of Metro or a commercial lot is recommended.
2. If you must drive, parking is available in the Colonial Parking garage in the Airline Pilots Association Building at 17th and Massachusetts. Avenues NW.
   • Garage entrance is on 17th. (Note: 17th is one-way and a cannot be accessed from Massachusetts.)
   • Because this is a peak time for parking you may have to leave your key with the attendant.
   • This is the most convenient commercial garage.
3. Street parking is very limited and ticketing after the two-hour limit is "aggressive".
   • On Mondays most of the streets in the immediate neighborhood have no parking on one side of the street because of street cleaning.  However, street cleaning is suspended during the winter months--check the signage.
     

ONCE YOU ARE AT THE BUILDING: 1718 P STREET, NW - WEBSTER HOUSE

1. Just inside the front door, locate the speaker phone on the left.
2. Press "187".
3. Tell the person who answers that you have come to visit 40Plus and would like to be "buzzed in" at the front door.
4. Wait for a tone and/or a soft click at the inner door and then open the door.
5. Cross the lobby and take the elevators DOWN one floor to the "T" (Terrace level.
6. Turn left as you leave the elevator. 40Plus is immediately on the right.
