Monday Morning Speaker:  Nancy Racette, CFRE

Working with a Search Firm to Find Your Next Nonprofit Job

Speaker Website:  www.driconsulting.com

Executive Search firms are retained by the non-profit to find the right person for the organization.  While the search firm’s first priority is to the client, all firms seek to maintain a pool of good, quality individuals that they can either seek as candidates for positions, or speak to about potential candidates.  Most firms will also give you free, candid advice on how to best represent yourself through your resume and in person to the client.  Attend this workshop and hear from a veteran search professional on how to put your best food forward to land your next nonprofit job.

BIO:

Considered a veteran fundraiser with a thoroughly tested track record, Nancy Racette's career includes high performance at several respected organizations and institutions in the public and non-profit sectors. She understands the entire organization -- from key management and operational functions to the delivery of services to beneficiaries.

For today's complex world in which non-profits must demonstrate accountability and transparency, her top to bottom knowledge provides valuable insight that helps organizations develop strategies that fulfill expectations. Also key to her success in this arena is her ability to work with all levels of an organization, from the board of governors to local community grassroots volunteers. Nancy has extensive background in non-profit management, fundraising, and communications, with a track record in consensus building and collaboration among franchise units nationwide.

As a founding partner and Executive Vice President of DRi, she has provided strategic development counsel for diverse organizations such as Reading Is Fundamental, The Nature Conservancy and WETA Public Television. She currently leads the Executive Search practice, recognizing that no organization can afford to lose momentum during a change or lapse in leadership.

Nancy has led two nationwide disaster fundraising campaigns that resulted in donations exceeding $88 million for the American Red Cross. She also has coordinated fundraising outreach that combines charitable and cause-related marketing programs, incrementally increasing expected donations by more than $4 million.

Nancy is a graduate of Boston University's School of Public Communications and has attended the Executive Management Program at Harvard University. She has earned her Certification as a Fundraising Executive and is the President of the Association of Fundraising Professional’s Washington DC metro area chapter.

Plan to join us after the meeting for networking.  Many of us carry our conversations to lunch at the nearby Brookings Institution.

Attire is business casual, recruiters are often present, so we ask all Monday Speaker attendees to contribute to the professional standards and objectives of this important networking meeting.

Doors open at 9:00 for networking and the program starts promptly at 10:00.
