Empowering Experienced Professionals for Successful Career Transitions

Statement of Support:

As an organization that empowers experienced professionals, managers, and executives for successful career transitions, 40Plus of Greater Washington serves professionals of all races and ethnicities. We stand firm in our support of all people who have been affected by the horrendous racist and violent acts in our country.

We condemn the police brutality that led to the tragic and needless death of George Floyd, along with others before him such as Breonna Taylor, Philando Castile and Eric Garner. We also condemn the violence, bigotry and systemic racism that has occurred during the past 400 years, particularly against black men and women in our nation. Furthermore, we stand firmly against discrimination of any kind including age discrimination, which frustrates many of our members during their search for new employment.

We offer our condolences to the family of George Floyd, his friends and loved ones. As a way to honor his memory, we stand ready to work with other agencies and community-based organizations, along with the community at large, to end injustice in all its forms against the oppressed and all persons of color.

40Plus also offers its members and guests the opportunity to participate in special events and workshops, including:

  • An evening networking series, “Networking with Purpose”
  • “Taste of 40Plus” events providing an introduction to 40Plus methodology

Are you considering a career change? Interested in discovering new approaches to working in fulfilling and satisfying ways?

Join Bruce Rosenstein, professional reinvention guru, author, and Managing Editor of the award-winning journal Leader to Leader, for three evenings (6 hours) of interactive exercises, stimulating discussions, and inspiration.

Bruce will share many techniques and tools including:

    • Design Thinking
    • Mind Mapping
    • Freewriting
    • Mindfulness
    • Questioning

The 3-session workshop emphasizes action. You’ll capture ideas in your own reinvention notebook, develop a personal roadmap, and start taking incremental steps towards achieving your goals.

This workshop is an absolute must for anyone who is wondering what to do next professionally!

The introductory rate of $99 gains you access to all three Zoom workshop sessions!

    Workshop Details (three sessions):

    Session #1 – Thursday, June 18 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
    Session #2 – Thursday, June 25 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
    Session #3 – Thursday, July 2    from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM

All sessions will open 30 minutes early at 5:30 PM so you can meet and network with your classmates.  We find that reinventing yourself is easier, more effective, and much more enjoyable if you collaborate with others who are also reinventing themselves.

Do you know someone outside the DC metro area who would benefit from this workshop?  Please share this announcement with them.  Because this is an online event, they can participate too!

Bruce Rosenstein is Managing Editor of the award-winning journal Leader to Leader, and author of Create Your Future the Peter Drucker Way, and Living in More Than One World: How Peter Drucker's Wisdom Can Inspire and Transform Your Life.

Due to the continuing impact of the Coronavirus pandemic, this will be a VIRTUAL WORKSHOP!! Please register online to receive instructions about logging in to the three Zoom workshop sessions. Login instructions will be emailed to all participants who register and pay for the workshop.
