ABOUT THE PRESENTATION:

Today’s experienced worker and the nonprofit sector make great partners.  More and more, older professionals are filling essential vacancies in nonprofit organizations and associations. 

In the nonprofit sector, individuals can focus their accumulated time, experience and talent on missions and issues that directly contribute to society. 

Workshop attendees will learn about employment trends in the nonprofit sector and techniques to be well positioned for nonprofit opportunities.


ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:

Barbara Ramundo, President, Ramundo Consulting Group, specializes in executive search and fundraising consultation for the nonprofit sector. Her experience includes projects for health organizations, educational institutions, social service agencies, cultural organizations, advocacy groups, foundations, and associations.

As an executive search consultant, Ms. Ramundo currently serves as Regional Vice President, Professionals for NonProfits, and is based in the firm’s Washington, DC office. She has successfully completed over 90 placements for senior-level and mid-level positions in management, fund development, programming, and finance. Her search experience includes placements for President, Chief Executive Officer, Executive Director, Vice President for Advancement, Director of Major Gifts and Planned Giving, Director of Development, and Director of Membership, among others.

As a seasoned fundraiser, Ms. Ramundo provides consultant services for capital campaigns, including feasibility studies; grant writing; prospect research; major gift campaigns; and planned giving initiatives.

Ms. Ramundo brings a myriad of experiences in education including as a teacher at Gallaudet University’s Model Secondary School for the Deaf and as a deaf educator with the Lincoln Intermediate Unit No. 12 in Pennsylvania as well as with the Fairfax County Public Schools in Virginia. She is passionate about the need for quality early childhood education and was Principal of Sunshine Montessori School, a model program for at-risk preschool students in Detroit, Michigan. Additionally, she taught Art History as a teacher/volunteer with Scholars At Home, a homeschooling program in Troy, Michigan.

Ms. Ramundo graduated from the University of Maryland and received her Master of Education degree from McDaniel College. She currently serves as Board Secretary for Harmony Montessori Center, Board Member for LearnServe International, Development Council Member for Montgomery Community Media, and Annual Fund Council Member for Randolph-Macon Academy. She is a member of Montgomery Ancient Mariners Master Swim Team, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals(Washington, DC and Maryland Chapters).
