Monday Morning Speaker: Open Meeting for Members and Visitors
Special Monday Program:
Tell Me About Yourself.
"Tell me about yourself" can one of the most frequently asked questions and can set the tone of a job interview, the elevator introduction, the networking event and many other professional engagements.
It's that persons' first impression of you.
At it's core, when they ask you "Tell me about yourself" you need to express: Who You Are; What do you do; Why are you so special.
Tom Goodwin, a human resource professional, will go well beyond that core and share the deliverables that will make your "Tell Me About Yourself" answer set the tone that will have the HR departments calling you back.
"to get you to explain what you want someone else to know about you." Section 6.2
and "to describe what you want the other person to know about you and to begin a useful conversation with the other person." Section 6.2
When I teach TMAY, I recommend that it be a concise description of marketable skills expressed in a priority that connects with the job for which you are interviewing. Who you are and the skills you offer.
I hope that helps, if you have time look at Section 6 of our manual. Dave
