Bio:
After residing 26 years in the Washington, DC area, Debra C. Chandler brings a wealth of “in the trenches” business experience and humor to her speaking engagements. Growing up smack in the middle of Tornado Alley, Debra spent many of her evenings in a basement practicing acceptance speeches for her future Academy, Emmy, and Tony award wins…all while waiting for an “all clear siren”! As with many early career aspirations…Hollywood didn’t quite work out. However, her career path experiences, include non profit development and event management, political fundraising, V.P. of Sales and Marketing for the “Family” business, real estate development and sales, and the building and management of her financial services practice. The past 15 years, she has worked as an independent financial advisor with Transamerica Financial Advisors, Inc., and serves as Principle of Chandler and Associates, LLC, the insurance and benefits arm of her wealth management consultancy group in Alexandria. Debra works a 100% Referral Based Practice, which allows her the ability to give her clients a “high touch” experience. Working a referral based model, also provides Debra more free time to devote to philanthropic work; serving on boards; advising charitable organizations, community groups, and other businesses.
Believing that the “give back” is one of the primary keys to success, Debra brings considerable expertise and many valuable contacts; to her philanthropic work. She is a current development volunteer, and Board nominee for the National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV), Washington, DC
Debra’s consultative sales, along with strengths in public speaking, teaching, and communications; developed over many years of working side by side with the CEOs, politicians, media, and celebrities at various levels are a benefit to any organization.
