Ms. Waddell's comprehensive discussion will give the audience a good overview of important aspects in setting up your own business, and share key considerations in keeping it thriving and growing.

BIO

Waddell Entertainment Consultants (WEC), LLC was established by Ms. Sheina Waddell in 2004. WEC brings event visions to life. The company specializes in entertainment consulting for high-profile upscale concerts and festival coordination, development, and management anywhere in the world. Their array of services include but are not limited to, event logistics, talent booking, marketing, advertising, talent relations, event production, budget management, contract negotiation and review, and staffing.

WEC has provided services for Capital Jazz Inc., Weekend of Jazz Hosted by Earl Klugh, U.S. Virgin Island Music Festival, Phenomenal Productions, FAAAF/Black Reel Awards, America’s Cup of Polo, Northern Virginia Brewfest, and the Community Business Partnership Center of Northern Virginia just to name a few.

Ms. Waddell has a varied background of experiences that went into the creation of WEC. In the ethnic hair care industry she was a manufacturer liaison and buyer for Rite Rack, Waldrof, MD formally Harris Beauty Supply for five years. She was involved with marketing, advertising, promotions, and purchasing.

Ms Waddell transitioned to high profile special event management and coordination by joining the team of Rusty Jackson Productions. As the assistant event coordinator, she was involved in events such as the African World Festival in Detroit, MI; the National Urban League Annual Golf Tournament in West Palm Beach, FL; National Basketball Wives Association Celebrity Golf Tournament in Puerto Rico, PR; Black Entertainment Sports Lawyers Association Conference/BESLA in St. Kitts, Cancun and Puerto Vallarta, MX; and the Alice Walker Celebrity Reading in Washington, DC.

Ms. Waddell joined the staff of Capital Jazz Inc., the producer of the Capital Jazz Fest, the World’s Largest Contemporary Jazz Festival, in 1997. She began as the associate producer and was quickly promoted to assistant producer after a year. During her five year tenure she was responsible for all event day-to-day operations for Capital Jazz Inc. She was instrumental in the development of new events such as the Capital JazzSoul Fest, Capital Jazz SuperJam, and Capital Jazz SuperCruise.

Ms. Waddell’s involvement in high profile events nationally and internationally has allowed her the privilege of working with world-renowned talent such as Ray Charles, James Brown, Boney James, Michael Schultz, Dave Koz, Roberta Flack, George Benson, Ramsey Lewis, Herbie Hancock, Anita Baker, Keiko Matsui, Alice Walker, Toni Morrison, Cece Winans, Richard Smallwood, Kenny G, The Emotions, Michael Franks, Sonia Sanchez, Chaka Khan, Richard Wesley, Kimberly Elise, Huey Lewis & the News, Vittorio Grigolo, The Gypsy Kings Family and the list goes on.

Ms. Waddell speaks on various panels relating to business women and small business topics. Additionally, she consults on the entertainment industry with artists and artist management. She is an associate member of the Recording Academy and a member of Ladies Of Imani, a non-profit community service organization.

Ms. Waddell is a southern girl raised in Spartanburg, SC. She received a degree in Fashion Merchandising from Bauder Fashion College in Atlanta and attended Georgia State University and Northern Virginia Community College. She currently resides in Alexandria, VA.
