Success Stories from the Job Hunt

with Mika Yamashita, Ken Schoppmann and John Wilhelm Jr.

This special edition of the Monday speaker series features a panel of successful job seekers who share their stories from the employment front.

The panelists come from a range of different work backgrounds -- a finance specialist, an executive with associations, and a program analyst/budget analyst. They all went through a career transition period -- and came out of it successfully.

They will discuss:

>>What lessons were learned about navigating the mid-career search for a new role in a new organization?

>>What resources or training made the most difference?

>>What mistakes did they have to correct before they could land the job they really wanted?

>>What was the biggest challenge they each had to overcome?

About the speakers

The panelists are graduates of the 40Plus Job Search Training Program.

Mika Yamashita does performance measurement support with the Washington Area Community Investment Fund.

Ken Schoppmann is executive director at the Association of Biomolecular Resource Facilities and is a Certified Association Executive. He's also a board member of 40Plus.

CPA John Wilhelm Jr. is field agent for Knights of Columbus Insurance -- and the volunteer Executive Director of 40Plus.
