ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:


Shira Harrington

Since 1994 Shira Harrington has been successfully connecting employers with job seekers in her roles as recruiter and career consultant. Developing a management and executive recruiting practice within the association industry and more recently a career consulting service, Shira is keen on helping her clients identify their optimal match. For job seekers, her expertise is in exploring career goals, crafting powerful resumes that catch the eye of recruiters and preparing for interviews that land the offer.

Shira is a regular speaker at job support groups around the DC area; she is an active volunteer leader in ASAE (American Society for Association Executives) as well as a leader in the human resources community. A proponent of workplace diversity, Shira is a national speaker, helping employers bridge the gap among the four generations currently in the workforce.

Michael Heller

Michael's career has been built on over 15 years of experience in strategic human resources, talent management and technology consulting.  As an HR executive at Washington Consulting, Digital Management and Deltek, Michael led teams to develop innovative human capital management programs and initiatives.  Previously, Michael held a variety of positions at American Management Systems and Booz Allen Hamilton where he executed on talent acquisition, total rewards, performance management, strategic HR partnership and philanthropy strategies. 

Michael serves the community as a board member of Teardrops to Rainbows, an organization dedicated to supporting families of children with cancer.  Michael earned a Bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Connecticut and is currently completing his Masters degree in Human Resources at Georgetown University.  Michael resides in Gaithersburg, Maryland with his wife and daughter and enjoys cooking and college basketball.
